2020 Fitness Jumpstart
For anyone anyone looking to get back into a fitness routine, restart an active lifestyle with purpose, or gain clarity for developing sustainable habits, this retreat will set you up for success while also providing an adventurous and relaxing vacation!
Led by Coach Sarah Gawron, the retreat is meant to be a 'wellness wake up' using personalized one-on-one coaching sessions, small-group fitness classes and short, informative workshops as tools to help you get back on track towards reaching your goals. Plus, with exciting activities like zip lining and surfing, relaxing free time to enjoy the resort's stunning pools and beach and a small group of like-minded people and new friends, this trip will be the ultimate balance and perfect vacation to kick off the year!
Each guest will have a private coaching session with Sarah to kick off the retreat and ensure your goals are top of mind each day. Also, we'll come together as a group for 1-2 daily workouts with an invigorating workout in the mornings and a restorative class in the evenings. Classes will be modified to challenge all levels and will vary between strength and conditioning exercises. Also, we will sprinkle in a few wellness workshops to offer additional insight throughout your stay while learning to maximize our workouts by warming up and using proper form.
There's so much to do in beautiful Costa Rica, and on this retreat, we will be exploring the country by land and by water! We'll go on a thrilling zip lining excursion through the tree canopies with breathtaking scenery. on one day, and on another we will cool off in the ocean with a surfing lesson for all levels! These activities are included but totally optional!
Each day will balance activities with free time to relax, reflect, or go explore on your own or with the group. Our resort is right on the beach and also has a couple of pools (with swim-up bars!) so free time is yours to cherish! Other ideas are to get a massage, sign up for an extra activity like paddle boarding or horseback riding, or exploring the town.
Sarah is passionate about health and fitness. Her dedication to a healthy lifestyle is rooted in her belief that wellness is beyond physical. In order to achieve optimal wellness, an individual needs to nurture their mind and spirit too. Her personal passion for health translates into helping and coaching those who want a similar lifestyle. In recent years, she has coached many people through their personal journeys to find healthier and happier lives.
Sarah teaches healthy habits to create a balanced lifestyle in and out of the gym. In order to create these positive rituals, Sarah will help you find your motivation or your “why”. Helping you find your “why” will help you become and stay motivated on your path to wellness. By creating specific and personal goals, Sarah will guide you to tap into your fullest potential. She encourages those to trust their strength and ability in order to progress.
Sarah focuses on building functional strength from the ground up by creating a strong foundation of movement quality before adding load. She specializes in kettlebell, barbell, and gymnastics strength and conditioning. Sarah believes everyone has the ability to move well with strength, power, and grace. Thursday, February 6:
Welcome to Costa Rica! Guests will arrive at the Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) airport and take a provided shuttle to our resort, the Tamarindo Diria. We'll check in and then meet for introductions, an Intention-Setting workshop and a welcome stretch at sunset. Tonight's included dinner will be at a beach restaurant in town!
Friday, February 7:
This morning we will kick off our morning workout routine with a strength class using just your own bodyweight followed by a nourishing breakfast overlooking the ocean waves. After some time to change or walk the beach, we'll depart for a zip lining adventure through tree canopies - the ultimate adventure (and bonding experience)!. We'll return for a free afternoon to enjoy some lunch and free time and begin our scheduled one-on-ones with Sarah. We'll come together once again in the late afternoon for a more restorative class with a focus on stretching and mobility and then enjoy the sunset! Tonight is a free night for dinner and optional nightlife - salsa dancing under the stars, anyone?
Saturday, February 8:
Today, we will work up our breakfast appetite with an optional beach walk followed by a total body interval training class overlooking the ocean. Then we'll have a fresh breakfast and finish up any remaining one-on-ones before heading down the beach for our surf lesson! This all-levels class will be led by professionals who know the waves and are experts in helping you get up on the board! You'll have time to practice on your own and when you finish up, you have a free afternoon to relax on the beach or by the pools! We'll meet again for an afternoon Healthy Habits workshop and stretch followed by a free night to enjoy dinner at one of the area's amazing restaurants.
Sunday, February 9:
We will kick off the morning with a check-in on the intentions we set on day one. Have we kept our personal goals in mind? Are we making the most out of each day? Are we stepping outside our comfort zones? Our morning workout will follow this train of thought as we focus on an invigorating strength and conditioning class. We'll end with breakfast and then enjoy a free day to explore the surrounding town of Tamarindo, go on an adventure to another beach, or sign up for an additional activity like a massage, horseback riding or kayaking. In the afternoon, we'll come together for a workshop about Building a Program and a sunset stretch and then get ready for our final group dinner (included) at an amazing restaurant.
Monday, February 10:
Our final day will kick off with an early morning fitness class, some final remarks and nourishing breakfast. Then we will have time to take one last dip in the ocean, walk on the beach or stroll through town before departing for the airport with a healthy glow and a big smile!
