Quick, easy, healthy recipes: Costa Rican Gallo Pinto
One of the most traditional dishes of Costa Rica is gallo pinto, their take on the rice and beans classic. Fun fact: gallo pinto is most often served for breakfast! Rice, beans, eggs, and coffee? Yes please!

! Read on for the step-by-step.
1 cup rice (Tip: For the best consistency, use precooked rice from the day before)
1/2 cup black beans (soaked in water overnight and cooked in salted water until soft) - or from a can to make it a even easier
2 tablespoons onions in small cubes
2 tablespoons bell pepper in small cubes
1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
Salsa Lizano (special ingredient!)
, Coconut oil, Tabasco
Heat up some coconut oil in a frying pan
Add onions and bell pepper
After one minute, add the rice while stirring constantly
When the rice starts getting crispy add the beans with a little of its water
Finalize with the spices and herbs depending on your taste
