If you’re anything like me, your mind is always running a thousand miles a minute and you often find yourself telling your brain to STFU. I mean, I’m lucky if I get a break from myself for just a few minutes every day. So imagine my reaction when I showed up to a meditation studio and was told that for 45 minutes it was just me and my thoughts. And more specifically, me and my thoughts of nothingness. The idea of thinking about nothing for a while actually sounded appealing, at least it would give me a break from everything that usually stresses me out. But actually forcing myself to clear my head and focus on nothing but the rhythms of my breathing seemed even more stressful! How could I possibly do this?!
