Join our Cape Town fitness retreat and experience one of the most awe-inspiring destinations on Earth. This week-long wellness retreat in South Africa blends daily workouts with outdoor adventures, cultural exploration, and relaxation in a small group setting.
Hike along breathtaking coastal trails, experience local wildlife on a thrilling one-day safari, and savor world-class wines in the Cape Winelands. Our wellness-focused itinerary includes energizing workouts, opportunities to connect with like-minded women, and plenty of time to recharge. Whether you're craving adventure, connection, or inspiration, this active retreat in Cape Town offers the perfect mix of fitness, fun, and unforgettable scenery.


Fitness:

​This fitness retreat is designed for all fitness levels and features a diverse range of classes, from bodyweight strength training to mindful stretching. No matter your experience, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new techniques, safely challenge your body, and grow in a supportive and uplifting environment.

In addition to classes, we'll be embarking on a moderate hike (and additional hikes of varying difficulty are available close by for free time opportunities!).

Adventure:

​Cape Town is bursting with exciting experiences, and we’ve crafted an itinerary that balances planned adventures with free time to customize your journey. The major highlight is a thrilling safari day trip to spot the "Big 5" in their natural habitat (African lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo).

We'll also embark on a guided walking tour of the city, where you’ll discover its charm and perhaps indulge in some local delicacies along the way!

Relaxation:

Our retreat wouldn't be complete without down time and planned low-key moments to balance out the adventure! We’ve included a day trip to the Cape Winelands, where you’ll savor exquisite wine tastings at some of the region’s most renowned vineyards.

Plus, enjoy select meals as a group at top local restaurants, offering the perfect chance to unwind and connect. During the built-in free time, you’ll have the freedom to choose what suits you best—whether it’s bonding with the group, lounging at the resort, or embarking on an extra excursion.

  • Secure your spot with a nonrefundable $500 deposit.
  • ​The balance is due in two installments: April 20 and July 20. Additional payment plans available.
  • Final payment is due no later than July 20, 2025.
  • ​Airfare to/from Cape Town, South Africa (CPT) not included. 
  • Guests who sign up to share a room without specifying a roommate will be placed with another traveler pending availability. If no roommate is available, a single room rate will apply.

Meet Coach Beth Roberts

Beth Roberts is a fitness trainer and nutrition/lifestyle coach with over 20 years of experience. Beth has taught many styles of fitness and levels of clients over her career as a private coach and group exercise instructor. Her passion for Boot Camp style interval training drove her to establish Killington Boot Camp in Killington, Vermont, where she keeps fitness fun with a variety of indoor and outdoor workouts.

After hosting her first retreat with Ketanga in Tulum, Mexico, Beth has caught the fitness travel bug and has become one of Ketanga's most popular retreat leaders with trips in Costa Rica, Barbados, Cape Cod, Mallorca, and more!

The Accommodations

Welcome to our home for the week, The Bay Hotel, nestled in the stunning Camps Bay. With the breathtaking Twelve Apostles Mountains as your backdrop and the Atlantic Ocean just steps away, this setting is perfect for revitalizing your mind and body.

Enjoy a nourishing South African breakfast buffet at the in-house restaurant, Tides, where you can enjoy your meal with panoramic views of the beachfront. For a post-workout bite or a relaxing afternoon, Bistro at The Bay is the ideal spot for a refreshing drink and light lunch.
Unwind at the hotel's exclusive private beach club, Sandy B, or gather at Caamil’s Bar as you watch the sun set over the ocean. Our retreat hotel offers four swimming pools, a fully equipped gym, indoor and outdoor Padel courts, and a luxurious spa to enhance your wellness journey.

Each hotel room is luxuriously furnished, maximizing comfort and offering guests the opportunity to indulge in the casual opulence Camps Bay is known for. ​The retreat rooms are south and east-facing mountain rooms with side views of Table Mountain and expansive views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range! Rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, A/C and heat, an electronic safe, a mini fridge, and a coffee machine. Upgrades to other room types may be available for an additional cost upon request.

Itinerary

Monday, October 20: 
  • Arrivals, welcome to Cape Town!
  • Meet the group for introductions / a welcome ceremony.
  • Group dinner at the hotel.

Tuesday, October 21:
  • Morning workout + breakfast.
  • Private guided walking tour of the city, where we’ll learn about the history and culture of the area while visiting some hidden gems and tasting local delicacies along the way!
  • Free time for lunch and exploring. 
  • In the late afternoon, return to the hotel to calm the body and mind after an eventful day with a stretch class. Free night.

Wednesday, October 22:
  • Morning workout + breakfast.
  • Free time to explore the V&A Waterfront 
  • Sunset hiking adventure to Lion's Head.
  • Group dinner.

Thursday, October 23:
  • Depart early for a full-day safari! Our tour will include transportation, lunch, and hopefully some incredible sightings of beautiful wild animals in their natural habitat.
  • Free night.

Friday, October 24:
  • Morning workout + breakfast.
  • Free day! Rest up or sign up for activities like spa treatments or excursions. Some ideas during free time: book a tour of Robben Island (former prison where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years), join a full-day Cape Peninsula Tour with a stop to the Cape of Good Hope, or go hiking up Table Mountain!
  • Group dinner.

Saturday, October 25:
  • Morning workout + breakfast.
  • Day trip to the Cape Winelands for wine tastings, picnic lunch and beautiful views
  • Free night.

Sunday, October 26:
  • Morning workout + breakfast.
  • Free day to check off any remaining items on your bucket list or simply relax!
  • Very special group dinner.

Monday, October 27:
  • Breakfast and closing words.
  • Departures.
