LGBT Fitness Retreat in Costa Rica
The prestigious Gulf of Papagayo in Costa Rica is known for sun, sand, surf, and now, sweat! We're heading down this June for the ultimate fitness retreat for your body and mind led by Coaches Josh Grimm and Bitsy Earl. Together, we'll enjoy challenging and restorative workouts, exciting land and water excursions, delicious local cuisine, and total relaxation with like-minded company. Join this LGBT getaway to recharge and reset after a long winter!
Each day, our Coaches will lead two different but complementary classes. The morning workouts led by Coach Josh will be intense, full-body blasting group sessions with functional HIIT, plyometrics, Tabata, and strength training. The evening workouts will be more restorative with Coach Bitsy teaching Animal Flow. On day 1 we'll learn the basics and then we will add movements each evening to create our own group flow by the end of the retreat. Whether it be kettlebells, sandbags or calisthenics, these Coaches will help you find a full body flow that resonates with you!
There are so many incredible things to see and do in Costa Rica, and on our retreat, we will have two excursions included (though optional) to enjoy the country by land and by sea. We will go on an exhilarating adventure tour with zip lining and horseback riding followed by hot springs on one day, and on another we will sail on a private boat with snorkeling and a possible whale sighting!
We will enjoy workouts and activities throughout the retreat, but just as important is our down time to relax! At our resort, we can sit by the pool, swim in the ocean, and lay out in the sun. There are also complimentary bikes and kayaks as well as SUP rentals available to you. And of course, the gorgeous spa is at your fingertips!

Bitsy Earl was a professional DJ and radio personality in Bermuda. When she suddenly fell ill, months went by without doctors arriving at a diagnosis and effective treatment plan. Beyond frustrated, Bitsy turned to the American Council on Exercise to learn about her body and become a certified personal trainer.
Back to her old self thanks to vigorous daily movement and a new passion for learning about the human body, Bitsy moved to New York in 2015 to build her new career as a personal trainer, dedicating herself to teaching her clients about their bodies and empowering them to set goals to achieve their best life.
Bitsy is certified as a Strong First Instructor and Orthopedic Exercise Specialist. Under Bitsy's care, several of her clients have recovered from serious injuries and/or surgery and are now stronger than they have ever been.
One of Bitsy's favorite modalities is Animal Flow, which offers tremendous benefits to your entire body -- most notably your brain and nervous system. Animal Flow will: (1) teach you new movement patterns so that you begin to move as you were intended to move, (2) improve your coordination, and (3) serve as a form of active meditation.
Bitsy knows a number of people who came out later in life and who are now committed to living their truth from a place of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength. These friends and neighbors are relatively new to feeling comfortable in their own skin and are eager to spend time with people who can understand situations that are unique to the LGBTQ community. Bitsy believes this fitness retreat offers that deep sense of fellowship and more.
Bitsy is passionate about experiencing all the wonder and joy this world has to offer. She and her partner live in New York City.
