What to Expect on the Malta Fitness Retreat

Movement & Pilates
Fitness classes led by Rachael and Stacy ranging from Pilates to strength + conditioning to boxing. All levels are welcome!

Private Malta Highlights Tour
Discover the island’s most iconic landscapes, from Valletta’s historic streets to the dramatic Dingli Cliffs and the famous Blue Grotto. We’ll end in enchanting Mdina—the “Silent City”—just in time for epic sunset views.

Cooking Class at a Family-Run Farm
Learn to prepare a traditional Maltese dish using fresh local ingredients at a family-run farm-to-table restaurant, then enjoy the meal together.

Wine Tasting at a Boutique Vineyard
Spend a relaxed afternoon in the countryside sampling Maltese wines and regional bites at a scenic local vineyard.

Private Boat Day to Gozo & Comino
Cruise across sparkling Mediterranean waters to the islands of Gozo and Comino. Swim, snorkel, and relax in the stunning Blue and Crystal Lagoons surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs.

  • Secure your spot with a nonrefundable $500 deposit.
  • Payment will be requested in 2 installments after the deposit, and you can make additional payments any time. The final payment is due 90 days prior to the start of the retreat.
  • By signing up, you agree to our Terms & Conditions. 
  • Solo traveler looking to share a room? Ketanga will help connect solo travelers first-come, first-served. If no roommate is available, guest must pay single room rate.
  • Check-in time is 3PM, check-out time is 12PM.
  • Travel insurance is highly recommended!
  • Note: Airfare to/from Malta (MLA) not included.

Meet Your Group Leaders, Rachael & Stacy

Rachael Bridgens has hosted retreats with Ketanga in Costa Rica, Iceland, Aruba, and Portugal, and she loves traveling as much as staying active. Rachael is a classically-trained, nationally-certified Pilates teacher, educator, and studio owner who blends Pilates, travel, and community into everything she does!

In addition to hosting retreats, Rachael loves to take Pilates classes wherever she goes. Her favorite? A class in Venice taught entirely in Italian—a language she doesn’t speak a word of, but loved every minute of. These global experiences are the foundation of the Pilates retreats she hosts, designed to combine movement, exploration, and meaningful connection in unforgettable destinations.

You may know Stacy Schwartz as the founder and CEO of Ketanga Fitness Retreats, but she also teaches fitness on the side! A personal trainer and group fitness instructor specializing in strength training and boxing, Stacy loves bringing the joy of movement to others, especially in beautiful surroundings! 

Stacy will be a special guest coach on the Malta retreat and is looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces in this beautiful country!

Also, after years of being behind the camera on retreats, Stacy really needs to get some new headshot photos...!

The Accommodations

Our Malta retreat is set at AX The Palace, a five-star hotel in the heart of Sliema, offering a stylish and contemporary escape just moments from the sea. The hotel blends modern luxury with a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, featuring a rooftop infinity pool, spa with sauna and steam room, and multiple restaurants/cafes.

Guests will stay in beautifully-designed Superior Rooms located on the upper floors, where sweeping panoramic views overlook the charming Sliema cityscape and stretch toward the distant sea. Each room combines a classic layout with bold, colorful design elements, creating a space that feels both elevated and inviting. Private balconies with outdoor seating provide the perfect setting to relax, recharge, and take in the scenery.
