The passing of Labor Day doesn't mean summer fun has to come to an end. Enjoy the weather while getting stronger, leaner, and more invigorated on this Pilates retreat in the Hamptons. Coach Kelly Keesler will take us through two daily workouts, while leaving us plenty of time to relax on the beach and soak up the last few rays of the summer sun.
Each day Coach Kelly will take us through 1-2 Pilates based workouts with distinct movements and purposes. Kelly's morning class will be sure to wake you up with a fast-paced, up-beat,flowingPilates class sure to challenge you with planks, pushups, and high heart-rate sequences. We will wake up the deepest core muscles, get your heart rate up and challenge the more physical fundamentals of the Pilates principles, breath and flow.
In the evenings, Coach Kelly will take us through a variety of classical Pilates mat classes that offer a comparatively more relaxed approach to working out. This class will focus largely on the more mental principles of Pilates, such as centering and concentration, with an emphasis on control and stability. This class will intentionally bring your focus back to your body after a long day of activity, including light stretches within the classical Pilates sequence to allow the muscles to breathe, relax and rejuvenate.
Enjoy relaxing beachfront accommodations in one of the the Hampton's most beautiful beaches. We will be staying at a resort in Amagansett / Montauk that is on the beach and near nature parks for hiking and biking.
Mornings and evenings will be dedicated to our Pilates sessions, but afternoons are free to enjoy amenities like the pool and beach, or to go into town to explore or shop. As part of the retreat, we will take a scenic group excursion such as bike riding in Montauk.
Coach Kelly is a classically trained and comprehensively certified Pilates instructor. Kelly began her career in fitness in 2012, and has been an athlete practicing movement since her early days as a gymnast and dancer as a young girl. It was only natural that Kelly gravitated towards Pilates as her preferred exercise routine in the years after college, as the focus on precise movement appealed to her senses.
Pilates was more than a workout to Kelly, it was a choreographed sequence that not only kept her attention, but kept her fit. She was delighted to find a workout method that involved more then mindless running on a treadmill, but rather focused concentration on really feeling the muscle groups she was strengthening and stretching. Kelly feels that bringing awareness to your body, and in particular learning how to isolate specific muscle groups, is one of the most physically rewarding and ‘a-ha’ moments Pilates can give you. She now shares her love of Pilates teaching her private clients and classes in New York City.
Kelly is also certified in Prenatal Pilates and the Lagree Fitness™ method, an exercise method performed on the Megaformer, an innovative take on the original reformer that transforms and sculpts the entire body with cardio-infused Pilates-esque exercises.
Kelly’s light-hearted and highly motivational approach to teaching encourages her clients to give their all and get the best workout they can that day. Her classes are tailored to challenge both the beginner and advanced client to reach their full potential, all while having fun and sweating it out!
