Whether you are new to running, training for the November marathon, or anywhere in between, this retreat is sure to teach you something new and help you become a better, more effective runner. Coach Yusuf is one of the most knowledgeable and encouraging instructors out there, and he will be taking the group through strength and conditioning workouts, running form clinics, and drills for improving endurance, speed, and proper technique... in a beautiful lakefront environment!
Coach Yusuf will lead 1-2 unique workouts per day that are focused on different elements of the running experience. Some workouts will focus on strength and conditioning, while others will highlight running drills and techniques that are suitable for ALL levels. We will make use of the natural environment for fun workouts on the beach, in wooden trails, and in grassy fields.
All levels of runners are welcome and will be accommodated!
Guests of the retreat will enjoy quiet accommodations at the Mountaintop Lodge, a bed and breakfast in the heart of the Poconos. Each room has unique character and comfortable amenities! On-site there is a coffee shop, a beautiful lawn (where we will do some of our workouts), and a relaxing porch for reading or chatting with new friends.
As part of the retreat, you have access to the Lake Naomi Club and can spend your free time at the pool, beach, or relaxing at the B&B. Additionally, activities such as tennis, biking, or golf, can be easily arranged!
Coach Yusuf has spent over seven years as a Master Trainer / Instructor at top gyms and studios in NYC such as New York Sports Club, Tone House, and The Run. He is a NASM-certified trainer in the areas of Sports Medicine, Performance Enhancement, and Corrective Exercise, and he is TRX-certified as well.
In college, Yusuf earned a BA in Biological Sciences and was a NCAA Division I Track and Basketball athlete. His passion for athletic-based training led him to become a Level 1 USA Track & Field (USATF) Coach, as well as develop small group classes focused around sports conditioning, boxing, and running.
