Adventures in Paradise

We're packing our bags for a tropical wellness vacation in Kauai, Hawaii, and you're invited! Nicknamed the "Garden Isle" for the lush rainforest covering much of the island, Kauai is known for coastal cliffs, world-class hiking and stunning waterfalls. Led by Coach Beth Roberts, this retreat will combine daily workouts in paradise with authentic cultural experiences. Join us for the ultimate balance of fitness, adventure and relaxation - and leave the planning to us!

Fitness:
This all-levels fitness retreat will incorporate a variety of workouts ranging from strength training to conditioning to restorative stretching. Coach Beth Roberts will start each day with a higher-intensity class targeting the whole body and invigorating the group for the day ahead. Then a second afternoon / early evening classes will be on the more restorative side with emphasis on core work and stretching with myofascial release.

Adventure:
When in Kauai, one must explore! As part of the program, we are excited to share new places and experiences with you on land and water. We've got an exciting hike planned as well as an excursion combining another hike with kayaking along the Wailua River to visit the sacred waterfalls!

Relaxation:
In between the programmed activities of this retreat, you will have time to enjoy the Hawaiian sunshine and fresh air! Our guests also receive a discount on spa services, complimentary golf club rentals and tons of free time to simply relax.

The Accommodations

We are staying at the Kauai Beach Resort, a postcard-looking paradise on the beach with swaying palm trees and clear blue water. This quaint plantation-style resort is situated on 25 green acres along Kauai's shore with four swimming pools, a full-service spa and delicious dining. Rise each day to a beautiful sunrise, and end it by an open bonfire! Situated in an idyllic setting, the charming guest rooms offer peace between your island adventures. All accommodations offer a private lanai (balcony) and WiFi internet access.

The resort's restaurants offer local specialties like fresh catch of the day, poke bowls, ono (Hawaiian BBQ), and more. You can dine under the Hawaiian sun, by tiki torch, or by candlelight in their on-site restaurants. Other amenities include the four pools (lagoon-style with waterfalls!), a full-service spa, and a casual beach bar.

Itinerary

Day 1
Welcome to Hawaii! After checking in and getting settled, we will meet for introductions and a stretch class to move our bodies after a day of travel. After some free time and a shower, we'll reconvene for a group dinner where we will continue to get to know each other.

Day 2
Wake up in paradise and enjoy a morning workout and freshly-prepared breakfast. We'll follow with a nourishing breakfast and our first group activity, an invigorating hike. Upon our return, the afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the beach and pools. We will come back together for our second class in the early evening, a more restorative class after the day's adventure. Free night!

Day 3
Good morning from Kauai! Our morning class will wake us up and prepare us for our first free day! After breakfast, enjoy your time however you'd like: sign up for an extra excursion, book a spa treatment, read a book by the pool, or dig your toes in the sandy beach. We will reconvene in the late afternoon to chat about our day and enjoy a second class with Coach Beth. Then we will continue on to a fresh, island-inspired group dinner (included) at the resort.

Day 4
This morning we'll kick things off with an invigorating workout followed by a fueling breakfast. Then we'll enjoy some free time before getting picked up in the late morning
 for an adventurous day of hiking and kayaking on the Wailua River to the sacred waterfalls! We'll have an optional evening stretch and then a final group dinner.

Day 5

On our last morning of the retreat, we'll jump to it with a morning workout and breakfast. We'll pack our bags and head to the airport for goodbyes feeling strong and refreshed!

Meet Your Coach

​Beth Roberts is a fitness trainer and nutrition/lifestyle coach with over 20 years of experience. Beth has taught many styles of fitness and levels of clients over her career as a private coach and group exercise instructor. Her passion for Boot Camp style interval training drove her to establish Killington Boot Camp in Killington, Vermont, where she keeps fitness fun with a variety of indoor and outdoor workouts.

After hosting her first retreat with Ketanga in Tulum, Mexico, Beth has caught the fitness travel bug and has become one of Ketanga's most popular retreat leaders with trips in Costa Rica, Barbados, Cape Cod, and Mallorca!

"This retreat was very well organized from shuttles, tours, workouts, and meals. The morning workouts were a great way to start my day with a variety of different exercises that were both challenging and fun. The breakfasts at the resort were delicious with a fabulous view. All of our tour excursions were well organized and unique with a workout at a local gym, a hike along the mountainside with ocean views, and a fun trip to a local beach with lots of activities. It was nice to have some things planned but also to have our own down time.
