Barre & Buti in Costa Rica
Relax and recharge your batteries before the busy holiday season begins with Barre Centric and Raw Renewal Yoga. Join Retreat Leaders, Rachael and Mandy for fun and effective Barre and Buti workouts daily, followed by exciting activities like zip lining, horseback riding, sunset sailing, and more! This getaway will combine fun, fitness and community into one fabulous trip.
Each day we'll enjoy Barre Centric and Buti Yoga classes for total-body strength, conditioning, and movement. Barre Centric classes help you sculpt long and lean muscles with principles from ballet, yoga, Pilates and strength training. This effective and fun workout is ideal for toning, flexibility, strength, and balance. Buti Yoga is a calorie-scorching workout that fuses power yoga with cardio-intensive body sculpting and primal movements. Buti uses the Spiral Structure Technique to challenge the body along all planes of motion and stabilize and strengthen the body.
There are so many incredible things to see and do in Costa Rica, and on our retreat, we will have two excursions included (though optional) to enjoy the country by land and by sea. We will go on an exhilarating adventure tour with zip lining and horseback riding followed by hot springs on one day, and on another we will go sailing on a memorable ride with snorkeling and a possible whale sightings!
We will enjoy workouts and activities throughout the retreat, but just as important is our down time to relax! At our resort, we can sit by the pool, enjoy an (included) ceviche-making lunch workshop, swim in the ocean, and lay out in the sun. There are also complimentary bikes and kayaks as well as SUP rentals available to you. And of course, the gorgeous spa is at your fingertips!
Highlights / What's Included
Day 1 - Friday, November 15
Welcome to Costa Rica! Guests will arrive at the Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) airport and take a provided shuttle to the resort to check in and get settled. We'll come together before sunset for introductions and our first barre and buti combo workout to break a sweat and wake up our bodies from the day of travel. In the evening, we'll have a group dinner at the hotel and continue to get to know one another.
Day 2 - Saturday, November 16
Wake up to sunshine in paradise! We'll have an early morning breakfast and then depart for a day of adventure at Rincon de la Vieja! Our day will include zip lining, horseback riding, a massive water slide, hot springs, and lunch! After the excursion, we'll have go back to the hotel to enjoy free time in the afternoon and then we'll come together for a Barre Centric class. Free night!
Day 3 - Sunday, November 17
Today is all about relaxation! We'll have a morning Buti Yoga workout followed by breakfast at the resort. Then we'll have a free day to relax at the beach or pool, treat yourself to a spa treatment, or sign up for an extra excursion like surfing or paddle boarding. At lunch time, we'll have a special local cooking class where we'll make (and enjoy) Costa Rican ceviche! (Options available for guests with dietary restrictions). In the evening, we'll meet once again for a Buti Bands and Sunset Stretching class and then have a free night.
Day 4 - Monday, November 18
A day of fun in the sun! This morning we'll work out with Coach Rachael and then enjoy breakfast and a few hours to relax at the resort. Then we'll get picked up for our afternoon on a catamaran, complete with lunch, drinks, snorkeling, and ultimate relaxation! Upon our return, we'll come together for our final group dinner.
Day 5 - Tuesday, November 19
Goodbyes are bittersweet! We'll kick off our final morning with an early workout combining styles from both Coaches. We'll have breakfast, soak up our last rays of sunshine, and depart for the airport feeling refreshed and stronger than ever!
Rachael Jarosz is the co-owner and instructor at Barre Centric, Western New York’s Premier barre studio with three locations. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Rachael has always been passionate about fitness and living an active lifestyle. She grew up playing several sports and dancing competitively at David de Marie. While completing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Spanish minor at The Ohio State University, she was a member of The Ohio State Dance Team all four years. She competed nationally at NDA and UDA Collegiate Nationals and served as captain her senior year.
Always interested in new cutting-edge fitness regimens, Rachael wanted to bring a new, effective, and fun workout to the Western New York area and opened up Barre Centric's first location in 2012. Rachael is an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Certified Barre Intensity Instructor and loves to inspire others to reach their fitness goals at the barre.
Mandy Kellner is from Buffalo, NY and couldn’t see herself living anywhere else! She grew up dancing competitively at David DeMarie Dance Studio as well as dancing in the advanced level at Royal Academy of Ballet. She pursued her passion for dance and became a 2013 graduate from the State University of New York Fredonia with a Bachelors of Fine Arts for Dance as well as a Bachelors of Science in Communication. She has attended many intensive training programs numerous times, such as, LehrerDance, Bates Dance Festival, Doug Varone and Company, River North Dance Chicago and Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company. Mandy is also an adjudicator for Turn It Up Dance Competitions.
After graduating Mandy danced for, along with being the Director and Coach for Buffalo Bandits, as a Bandette for the 2013-2017 seasons. She has been a principal dancer in with Buffalo’s contemporary jazz company ConvergeDance Buffalo since 2013 and loves being able to take her passion to the Buffalo community dancing in various festivals, shows, and gigs. As a freelance dancer, She performs in Configuration’s Nutcracker and Buffalo Dance Ensemble’s showcases. She is a certified Pilates, Barre, Buti Yoga, Buti Sculpt and Buti Bands instructor.
Mandy teaches Buti, Bands, and Sculpt classes at Raw Renewal Yoga. At Barre Centric she instructs all formats from Centric to Bounce to Cardio to Resist and brings her sassiness to the next generation, teaching Jazz dance at Royal Academy of Ballet. A jack of all traits, Mandy thrives on bringing her passion, for fitness, dance, Pilates and the Buffalo community into every class she teaches. She loves helping others live their healthiest lifestyles in any way she can!
