Pilates & Adventure Retreat

Enjoy the sea, sun, and fantastic Greek food while taking in the benefits of Pilates on this week-long retreat! Join Coach Evgenia on the beautiful island of Crete for the fitness and adventure retreat of a lifetime. You will nourish your body and soul with fresh air, invigorating exercise, and breathtaking scenery, and you will walk away inspired to take on the world!

Fitness:
Pilates is a great system which helps the body and the mind. Through twice-daily classes, your core will become stronger, your body more limber, and your mind stress-free. Evgenia will lead a variety of Pilates-inspired classes varying in intensity and theme to keep each session fresh and different while targeting the whole body. On some days we may swap a second Pilates class for yoga, stretch or even a local dance class!

Adventure:
​Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, and it is known for its crystal clear waters, super fresh foods, and extremely friendly people. You will experience all of this and more through daily activities and optional outings like horseback riding on the beach, sailing to Preveli Palm Beach, learning to cook a healthy Greek meal, and exploring the old town of Rethymno. Plus, you may choose to get a relaxing massage, take a nap on the beach, or enjoying a nature walk through a gorge.

Relaxation:
Between the curated experiences and activities, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine and breeze from the sea. Our resort has spa services which you can choose to book for a fee, plus we are in the middle of Plakias, a vibrant village with much to explore!

Meet Coach Evgenia Ilienko

Evgenia was born in Ukraine, grew up in Prague, spent close to a decade in NYC, until she followed her heart to Crete. Passionate about movement, she decided to turn her hobby into a job she will actually like, and became certified in classical Pilates at Core Pilates NYC, where she later taught.

Living a healthy lifestyle, and wanting to help others get on the wellness path also, she became a certified Holistic Health Coach. After going to Crete for vacation, she decided to move there, and wants to share the beauty of the island and the benefits of Pilates with you.

Retreat Schedule

Day 1 
Welcome to our week of wellness in Crete! Guests will check in to the hotel and meet for introductions and a post-travel Pilates class. After some time to settle in and shower, we'll visit a local restaurant for a delicious welcome dinner where we'll get to know the local cuisine and one another!

Day 2
Wake up to a morning class after the sun comes up, followed by a fresh and nutritious breakfast. Today we'll shake off any jet lag with an invigorating hike complete with fresh air and picturesque views. In the late afternoon we'll have a second class, more restorative and stretch-based, followed by a free night in town.

Day 3 
After a good night's sleep, we'll wake to a Pilates class and fresh breakfast. Today we'll visit and explore the old town of Rethymno. You can visit shops, check out the Fortezza Castle and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and take in the views. Back in Plakias, we'll come together for an afternoon workout and then have a free night.

Day 4 
Today our morning Pilates class will focus on hip openers and preparing for our day's activity of horseback riding! We'll ride through olive groves, along the beach and through small local towns to really get a feel for life in Crete. In the late afternoon, after our second workout, we'll be joined by a chef for a healthy Greek cooking class where we'll prepare - and then enjoy - dinner together.

Day 5 
Today is your day to really do you! We'll have our two Pilates classes in the morning and late afternoon, and the rest of the day is free. You can sign up for a tour, pamper yourself with a spa treatment, enjoy an additional excursion, or sit back and relax on the beach. 

Day 6 
On our final full day together, we will kick things off with Pilates and breakfast, and then later in the day we'll hop on our own private boat for an afternoon of island hopping, crystal clear water and hanging out with one another. After sunset, we'll head out to a final group dinner at a wonderful local restaurant.

Day 7 
This morning we will enjoy our workout and breakfast as usual, and then we will pack up and say our farewells as we head to the airport, sun-kissed, rejuvenated and energized!
