Adventures in Croatia

Join our long-awaited first retreat to Croatia in 2024! This carefully-crafted experience will combine cultural exploration, local adventures, fitness activities, and beachy relaxation! Our journey will begin in Split where we'll get to know the local history and culture while exploring by land and sea. Then we'll spend our final nights on Hvar Island, perfect for relaxing at a local winery and sailing on a sunset boat tour. We're thrilled to finally bring this retreat to life, and we can't wait to share it with you!

Fitness
This all-levels fitness retreat will incorporate a variety of workouts ranging from strength training to conditioning to restorative stretching. Depending on our day's agenda, Coach Beth will offer one to two classes per day, typically starting with a higher-intensity class and ending with a more restorative class with emphasis on core work, stretching and myofascial release. ​

Adventure
There is just so much to do in Croatia, and on our Split and Hvar itinerary, we have put together our very favorite activities! We'll start the retreat in Split with a private walking tour of the historic city, visiting important sites and learning about where we will be spending the week. Once we have our bearings, we'll take a trip to Marjan Hill Park for a glorious hike with panoramic views. And to spice things up a bit, we'll go on a rafting trip along the Cetina River! Keep in mind that all activities are optional, so if you choose to skip one, that's not a problem!

Relaxation
Throughout the retreat, you'll find pockets of free time to relax or do some additional site seeing. Our time in Hvar is specifically designed to be more restful with down time with more relaxing activities like wine tasting and a boat tour of the Pakleni Islands

Itinerary

Day 1: 
  • Welcome to Croatia! Arrive at the Split airport and make your way to the hotel (we'll provide simple instructions). Check in, get settled and meet for friendly introductions before jumping into our first class, waking up our bodies from the day of travel. Dinner will be included as we continue getting to know one another.

Day 2: 
  • Wake up to a morning workout on the beach and fresh breakfast. Then we will depart for a private guided tour of Split including Diocletian's Palace, local markets and one of the main streets called Cardio (may have to jog down that one)! We'll learn about the history while enjoying the incredible views and sites. Stick around the historic center for lunch and exploring or return to the hotel for some free time. Restorative class will end the day and then the night is yours to support a local business for dinner.
 
Day 3: 
  • Start the day with a fueling breakfast and depart for our day's activity, a hike through Marjan Hill Park, known as the lungs of the city! We'll listen to the birds chirping, feel the fresh sea breeze and take in stunning views as we explore unique vantage points along our trail. Wear your bathing suit for optional dips as we pass beautiful beaches along the way. At the top of Marjan Hill, we'll stop for a picnic lunch. In the late afternoon we'll have a group workout and free night in Split.

Day 4: 
  • Wake up to an early workout and breakfast, and then enjoy a free day in Split! Some ideas: rafting on the Cetina River, visit Krka National Park, take a cooking class, or relax on the beach. We'll come together in the evening for a class and then depart for a group dinner at a hidden gem restaurant in town.

Day 5: 
  • This morning we will have a workout and breakfast at the hotel and then check out to transfer to Hvar Island by ferry. Check in at our new hotel and feel free to spend the rest of the day however you'd like: hang out at the resort, explore the shopping and nightlife in Hvar Town, visit a Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns in Europe, or check out some local vineyards! Free night.

Day 6: 
  • On our final full day as a group, we'll have a morning workout and breakfast and time to hang out and relax. In the late afternoon, we'll come together for one more amazing excursion, a boat trip to the Pakleni Islands! We'll explore the beautiful Red Rocks Cliffs, swim in the Adriatic Sea, navigate through the picturesque archipelago, and enjoy each other's company as the sun starts to set. We'll have a final group dinner together in Hvar.

Day 7: 
  • Enjoy one last breakfast together and then check out from the Hvar accommodation and transfer back to Split for departure flights or onward travel!

The Accommodations

The first four nights of our Croatian adventure will be in Split, and guests will stay at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, a wellness-focused property overlooking the Adriatic Sea and a five-minute drive (or 30-minute walk) from downtown. The resort has three restaurants, beach access, pools, and a relaxing spa with complimentary jacuzzi, saunas and steam bath.

Our final two nights will be on the luxurious island of Hvar, at the ___ beachfront hotel.

Meet Coach Beth Roberts

Beth Roberts is a fitness trainer and nutrition/lifestyle coach with over 20 years of experience. Beth has taught many styles of fitness and levels of clients over her career as a private coach and group exercise instructor. Her passion for Boot Camp style interval training drove her to establish Killington Boot Camp in Killington, Vermont, where she keeps fitness fun with a variety of indoor and outdoor workouts.

After hosting her first retreat with Ketanga in Tulum, Mexico, Beth has caught the fitness travel bug and has become one of Ketanga's most popular retreat leaders with trips in Costa Rica, Barbados, Cape Cod, Italy, and more!
