Adventures in Croatia

We're returning to Croatia for an expertly-crafted retreat that combines cultural exploration, local adventures, fitness activities, and beachy relaxation! Our journey will begin in Split where we'll get to know the rich history and local culture while exploring by land and sea. Then we'll spend our final nights on Hvar Island, perfect for relaxing at a local winery and sailing on a sunset boat tour. We're thrilled to bring back this favorite retreat, and we can't wait to share it with you!

Fitness
This all-levels fitness retreat will incorporate a variety of workouts ranging from strength training to conditioning to restorative stretching. Depending on our day's agenda, Coach Beth will offer one to two classes per day, typically starting with a higher-intensity class and ending with a more restorative class with emphasis on core work, stretching and myofascial release. ​

Adventure
There is just so much to do in Croatia, and on our Split and Hvar itinerary, we have put together our very favorite activities! We'll start the retreat in Split with a private walking and tasting tour of the historic old town, visiting important sites and tasting local delicacies. We'll also take a glorious hike to Marjan Hill Park with stunning panoramic views along the way.

Relaxation
Throughout the retreat, you'll find pockets of free time to relax or do some additional site seeing. Our time in Hvar is specifically designed to be more restful with a sunset boat ride exploring the Pakleni Islands and an optional wine tasting tour to local wineries. Both resorts have spas and pools as well, to level up the relaxation!

Itinerary

Friday, May 23
  • Welcome to Croatia! Arrive at the Split airport and make your way to the hotel (Bolt-similar to Uber- is the easiest option). Check in, get settled and meet for friendly introductions before jumping into our first workout overlooking the sea. Dinner will be included as we continue getting to know one another while the sun sets.

Saturday, May 24
  • Wake up to a morning workout and fresh light breakfast (we're going to be enjoying treats on our tour, so leave room!). Then we will depart for a private walking + tasting tour of Split including Diocletian's Palace, a lucky toe (you'll see!), local markets, and delicious snacks along the way! We'll learn about the history while enjoying the incredible views and sites. Stick around the historic center for lunch and shopping or return to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon. A restorative stretch class will bring the day to an end in the late afternoon, and then the night is yours. Support a local restaurant for dinner!
 
Sunday, May 25
  • Start the day with a motivating workout and fueling breakfast and then depart for a beautiful moderate-level hike up Marjan Hill, known as the lungs of the city! We'll listen to the birds chirping, feel the fresh sea breeze and take in stunning views as we explore unique vantage points along our trail. At the top of Marjan Hill, we'll stop for incredible panoramic views. Then, enjoy a free afternoon in Split! Grab lunch in town, book a spa treatment at the hotel, or relax at the beach club! We'll come back together in the late afternoon for our stretch class and then dine together for dinner at a local restaurant.

Monday, May 26
  • This morning we will have a workout and breakfast and then check out as we say goodbye to Split and hello to Hvar Island! The ferry is about one hour long and will drop us at the Hvar port where our luggage will be taken to the hotel so we can walk around and enjoy lunch in town (included) at the best restaurant in town. Use the rest of the day to explore Hvar Town, visit Stari Grad (one of the oldest towns in Europe) or relax at the new hotel. Late afternoon stretch and core class followed by a free night!

Tuesday, May 27
  • Morning workout and breakfast followed by a free day! Hang out at the resort, explore the town or sign up for an additional activity like a lavender hike or spa treatment. We'll regroup for a restorative class in the late afternoon and then enjoy a leisurely dinner at a restaurant in town as a group.

Wednesday, May 28
  • On our final full day together, we'll work out and enjoy breakfast followed by down time to hang out and relax. In the afternoon, we'll come together for one more amazing excursion, a boat trip to the Pakleni Islands to celebrate the finale of our retreat! We'll explore the beautiful Red Rocks Cliffs, swim in the Adriatic Sea, navigate through the picturesque archipelago, and enjoy each other's company as the sun starts to set. Upon our return, the night is free to dine as a group or grab something light and get a good night's sleep.

Thursday, May 29
  • Enjoy one last breakfast together and then check out from the Hvar accommodation and transfer back to Split for departure flights or onward travel!

The Accommodations

The first three nights of our Croatian adventure will be in Split, and guests will stay at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, a wellness-focused property overlooking the Adriatic Sea and a ten-minute drive from the old town. The resort has three restaurants, beach access, pools, and a relaxing spa with complimentary jacuzzi, saunas and steam bath.

Our final three nights will be on the luxurious island of Hvar, at the Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort. Tucked away in a tranquil bay surrounded by a lush pine grove, and only a ten-minute walk from the historic city of Hvar, Amfora is the perfect venue to bring our retreat to a close. Our Superior guest rooms have a relaxing balcony and sea view, and when you leave the room, you can enjoy the spectacular cascading pool with lounge area and Sensori Spa and Wellness Centre.

Meet Your Group Leader

Beth Roberts is a fitness trainer and nutrition/lifestyle coach with over 20 years of experience. Beth has taught many styles of fitness and levels of clients over her career as a private coach and group exercise instructor. Her passion for Boot Camp style interval training drove her to establish Killington Boot Camp in Killington, Vermont, where she keeps fitness fun with a variety of indoor and outdoor workouts.

After hosting her first retreat with Ketanga in Tulum, Mexico, Beth has caught the fitness travel bug and has become one of Ketanga's most popular retreat leaders with trips in Costa Rica, Barbados, Cape Cod, Italy, and more!
