Join us for an unforgettable journey where we'll transform the land into our fitness haven with daily classes amidst the natural beauty. Indulge in the flavors of local food and drink, sway to the rhythm of salsa dancing, and explore the country from the treetops (through thrilling zip-lining) to the depths of the ocean (on a catamaran sailing adventure). It's not just a vacation; it's an immersive adventure that will leave you energized and inspired!

Fitness:
Each morning, Coach Haley will lead bodyweight and strength/power-inspired workouts. Then in the evening, a second class will be on the lighter / more relaxing side such as stretching, power walking on the beach or neighborhood, or dancing!

Adventure:
There's so much to do in beautiful Costa Rica, and on this retreat, we will experience adventure from the tops of trees as we zip line through the mountains. On another day, we'll embark on a sailing trip on a catamaran (with snorkeling, swimming and open bar!). During free time, feel free to sign up for extra adventures like surfing or horseback riding!

Relaxation:
Each day will balance exciting activities with free time to relax, reflect, or go explore on your own or with the group. We'll learn about nutrition and local cuisine while tasting unique foods, learn how to salsa dance at a local club, and enjoy unlimited down time at the beach and pools. All activities are optional, this is YOUR vacation!

  • Airfare to/from Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) not included.

Meet Your Retreat Leader, Haley Giffen

Haley is a group fitness instructor based in Nashville, TN, and is an avid hiker, foodie, and overall adventurer. Her favorite thing about traveling is cultural immersion, experiencing cuisine and activities that are keystones to the local culture. 

Haley started her fitness journey as a professional choreographer after growing up in the theater world and being a competitive dancer for 16 years. She attended City University of New York, earning a degree in Physical and Psychological Wellness, and University of Central Florida for graduate courses in Kinesiology. She also studied Health and Fitness in the Mediterranean at Florence University of the Arts.

Haley went on to earn her NCSF Personal Trainer certification and currently trains at Burn Boot Camp West Nashville. When she’s not in the gym, you can find her adventuring with her two dogs or teaching children’s music lessons.

The Accommodations

Our home for the retreat is the iconic Tamarindo Diria resort, located in the heart of Tamarindo, a coastal town known for surfing, sunsets, and low-key beach vibes. The stunning property has a boutique-y vibe with lush grounds, 4-star accommodations, and a friendly, welcoming staff. There are three pools, including two with swim-up bars, a tennis court, and massage services. Plus, being right on the beach means you'll waste no time between a fresh and delicious breakfast and soaking up the morning sunshine. The best part? While the property is relaxing and peaceful, you are steps away from a safe local town with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops to explore - the perfect vacation balance with something for everyone!

Itinerary

Wednesday, March 20:
Welcome to Costa Rica! Guests will arrive at the Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) airport and take a provided shuttle to our resort, the Tamarindo Diria. We'll check in and come together for introductions and a sunset stretch after a day of travel. After some opening remarks, we'll continue getting to know one another at a group dinner full of local flavors.

Thursday, March 21:
This morning we will start off strong with a bodyweight strength workout and fresh breakfast overlooking the ocean waves. Be sure to try the gallo pinto, a staple at a Costa Rican breakfast! Then we'll depart for a zip lining adventure at a private farm just outside of town. We'll soar through the tree canopies as the adrenaline flows! Return to the hotel for a free afternoon for lunch and to know the town. Re-group in the late afternoon for a total body stretch, and then enjoy a free night.

Friday, March 22:
Today, we will enjoy an invigorating beach walk and workout. Then, we'll have a leisurely breakfast and a free day to relax on the beach, sign up for a surf lesson or horseback ride along the ocean. In the afternoon, we'll come together for a nutrition workshop and local fruit tasting where we'll learn about and taste some fruits we've likely never seen before! Then in the early evening, we'll have a dance class, learning some fun moves to practice later in the evening (optional). Group dinner at a delicious local restaurant and then check out some nightlife and salsa dancing.

Saturday, March 23:
Kick off the morning with a beach walk and movement session followed by breakfast. Then we'll have a free morning, perfect for signing up for any extra excursions like surfing or horseback riding, or pampering yourself with a massage! In the early afternoon we'll head down the beach to our catamaran for our adventure day in the ocean! We'll ride out into the Pacific, hopefully catching a glimpse of some whales or dolphins, and then we'll have time to jump in the water for snorkeling and swimming! Lunch, open bar and unobstructed sunset views included! Free night tonight to choose where you'd like to dine.

Sunday, March 24:
​Our final day will kick off with an early morning class, some final remarks and nourishing breakfast. Then we will have time to take one last dip in the ocean, walk on the beach or stroll through town before departing for the airport with a healthy glow and a big smile!
