Ride & Flow Retreat

Ride the Irish countryside on an equestrian, yoga, and hiking retreat.

New dates coming soon!

Equestrian & Yoga Retreat

Imagine galloping through a lush field in the Irish countryside, enjoying home-cooked healthy meals, and practicing yoga as the sun sets... sound like a dream? After bringing this magical experience to life in 2018, we are excited to offer it again in 2019! All riding levels are welcome.

Riding & Fitness:
Each day we will have 1-2 group rides on picturesque grounds. Depending on your individual experience and goals, your rides will vary between trail rides in the woods, cross country jumping lessons on the fields, and ring work. You'll have your own horse for the week so you can start a bond and grow confidence as you take your riding to the next level!

We will balance riding with three restorative yoga sessions led by a local instructor to stretch and strengthen our riding muscles and entire body. The classes will focus on movements, meditations and muscle groups to complement our activities in the saddle.

Adventure:
To add to the excitement of our riding adventures each day, we will also go on two excursions to get to experience more of the beautiful country. One day, we'll hike Devil's Bit, a nearby mountain, for incredible views and fresh country air, and another day we'll visit the town of Kilkenny for free time to explore the castle, shops and neighborhood. Plus, one night we will visit Jim of the Mills pub for a traditional Irish music session - a unique experience you must see to believe!

Relaxation:
In between rides and activities, there will be plenty of time to relax in the house, walk around the stables, or take a ride into town. There are quiet areas for reading a book or taking a nap, and there's always the option to have a glass of wine (or Guinness) with your new friends!

The Crossogue Equestrian Center

The Crossogue Equestrian Center is located in Thurles, Ireland, about an hour outside of Dublin. The estate is run by Mark Molloy, one of six children who grew up on the property, and his parents still live there and make homemade (award winning) preserves that we will enjoy with breakfast earch morning!

A guest house for 25 years, Crossogue is a member of the Green Hospitality program, striving to work in harmony with nature through implementing energy saving, recycling, and renewable energy policies.

The same care is in place for the horses which live outside year round and only come in to be ridden. The excellent instructors make sure to pair the right horses with appropriate riders and ensure proper care is given to everyone. The environment at Crossogue is one of comfort, relaxation, and fun, and it makes for one of the best experiences a horse lover can have!

Day 1 - Arrivals:
  • Arrive in Ireland at the Dublin airport and take simple train transportation to Thurles where we will be picked up and taken to the farm. Once settled and unpacked, we'll have a casual orientation and head to the barn to meet the horses and saddle up for our first ride. Everyone will be placed in an appropriate riding group for the remainder of the trip based on experience and goals. In the evening, we'll come together for a welcome dinner and retire early to rest up.

Day 2:
  • After a good night's sleep, we'll wake up for a restorative yoga class that is focused on stretching and preparing the body for riding. After our practice we'll have fresh breakfast (with unlimited homemade jam) followed by our morning ride. We'll enjoy lunch and some free time and then go out for our second ride of the day. In the evening, we'll have dinner and a quiet night at the house.

Day 3:
  • This morning we will have breakfast and a morning ride, and then after our fresh lunch we will take a day trip to the town of Kilkenny for a chance to explore the town and castle! Upon our return, we'll have a restorative yoga class and a delicious home-cooked dinner.

Day 4:
  • We will begin our day with a rejuvenating morning ride. Then we'll break for lunch and free time before our afternoon ride. In the evening after dinner, we'll leave for a special night out at Jim of the Mills for a traditional Irish music session and Guinness on tap!

Day 5:
  • This morning after breakfast we will depart for a hike at Devil's Bit, about 20 minutes away to experience the country and breathtaking views. We'll arrive back at Crossogue for lunch and our afternoon ride, and in the evening we will have our final yoga practice. At night, we'll sit down to a special farewell dinner where we will reflect on our trip and experience together.

Day 6 - Departures:
  • On our final morning, we'll have an early light breakfast and get on our horses for one last ride. We'll pack up, have lunch and say our goodbyes as we depart for Dublin and the airport.

Testimonials

“This trip was a lot of firsts for me: traveling solo, traveling to Europe and riding English style cross country horses.  The venue was amazing: great hospitality and accommodations , wonderful food and amazing horses, trainers and grounds.  We had the luck {of the Irish } to have Stacy, the founder of Ketanga Fitness, as our lead along with amazing weather.  Loved the workouts, activities and sightseeing!  Also had an amazing group of people to share all of the experiences with!  Definitely an experience not to pass up!  I will definitely repeat this retreat again!" - Cheryl, WA

"I wanted to thank Mark, Stacy as well as the rest of the staff at Crossogue for a fun time. Jennie and Sylvia’s food was simply amazing. I had a great experience and appreciate all the patience with training. Thank you for opening up your home and sharing your life in Ireland with us. I hope to continue riding. Stacy, thank you for sharing this jewel you found years ago. Many thanks and hugs!" - Amy, NY

"Everything about the trip - the itinerary, the coach (Stacy herself!), the accommodations, the food, the fellow guests, the riding and horses, and especially all of the staff at Crossogue - was beyond all my expectations. There was no pressure to participate in anything so each guest could go at his or her own pace. Stacy was fantastic at organizing everything and making sure everyone was able to focus on their own goals for the retreat. She is very proficient working with many different personalities and making sure everyone in the group is included. Crossogue itself was amazing in absolutely all aspects. All of the staff are so generous and welcoming that it feels like you're at home with all of them. They are also great at working with you if you have any food allergies or other dietary considerations. Our group had a mix of brand new beginner riders, some advanced riders, and every level in between. Crossogue did a fantastic job of pairing all the riders with appropriate horses and breaking the larger group into smaller groups based on skill and goals. We worked with the same horse throughout the week so we could get to know them and really grow our riding skills. The instructors are so patient, knowledgeable, and down to earth - they were so fantastic to work with and learn from. They know exactly how to challenge you as a rider while still keeping everything safe and you comfortable. I would go on another retreat with Ketanga in a heartbeat! You will not be disappointed!" - Jennifer, VA
