Galvanized Fitness & Fun Retreat

Picture an active vacation with the right amount of rest and relaxation. We’ll explore the land around us through hiking, city exploring, and fun excursions. Stay fit with daily strength or yoga workouts. And find time to relax by the pool, enjoy the company of others, and hit up the spa.

Fitness:

Expect strength classes and yoga classes that complement the other activities of the day. All levels are welcome.

Adventure:
Afternoons in Costa Rica can be spent in a million ways. On our retreat, we've included two special activities along with a free day to choose your own adventure (whether that takes you on the surf or sand!).

​First, we'll take an exhilarating hike through the mountains and jungle with a local guide telling us about the plants and animals along the way. On another day we'll escape on a catamaran for snorkeling, whale watching and sunset viewing (with lunch and an open bar)!

Relaxation:
Each day will balance activities with free time to relax, reflect, or go explore on your own or with others. Some ideas to consider (other than soaking in the resort's three pools or laying on the beach) include getting a massage, signing up for an extra excursion like surfing or horseback riding, or visiting the town for some shopping.

Meet Your Retreat Leaders

Alison has been in the Fitness Industry for over 15 years working with athletes, college students, athletes of life, kids, older adults, and everything in between. She is the owner and co-founder of EnergyX Fitness in San Antonio. Alison achieved her BS in Kinesiology from Texas A&M and MA in Exercise Sports Science from Texas State University. She currently works with BOSU and WaterRower as a Master Trainer helping other fitness professionals enhance their skills. In addition, she holds her RYT 200, NASM- CPT, AFAA Primary, and TRX Suspension, Group, and Sports Medicine Certifications, and is an Onnit Academy Level 1 Certified Trainer and Onnit Kettlebell Specialist. When Alison isn’t inspiring the world to fitness, she is spending time outside with husband Danny, daughter Mila, and dog Cha Cha!

Danny has been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years and is the owner and co-founder of EnergyX Fitness in San Antonio. His passion for creative approaches to overall health and wellness and bettering the lives of everyone he meets makes him a vital part of EnergyX Fitness. Danny earned his Master's degree from Texas State University (San Marcos) in Professional Counseling and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). and his Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Exercise Sports Science from Texas Wesleyan University. He also holds TRX suspension and sports medicine certifications, Indo-Row and Shockwave certifications, Onnit Academy Foundations, and Onnit Academy Specialist: Kettlebells. In addition to the general public, Danny has worked intensely with athletes as well as physically disabled individuals. He has had the pleasure of working for a non-profit for the past several years helping veterans heal through holistic approaches.

The Accommodations

Our home for the retreat is the iconic Tamarindo Diria resort, located in the heart of Tamarindo, a coastal town known for surfing, sunsets, and low-key beach vibes. The stunning property has a boutique-y vibe with lush grounds, 4-star accommodations, and a friendly, welcoming staff. There are three pools, including two with swim-up bars, a tennis court, and massage services. Plus, being right on the beach means you'll waste no time between a fresh and delicious breakfast and soaking up the morning sunshine. The best part? While the property is relaxing and peaceful, you are steps away from a safe local town with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops to explore - the perfect vacation balance with something for everyone! Guests will enjoy the quiet Tropicana rooms, and oceanfront upgrades may be available upon request.

Itinerary

February 1:
Welcome to Costa Rica! Guests will arrive at the Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) airport and take a provided shuttle to our resort, the Tamarindo Diria. We'll check in and then meet for introductions and a welcome workout at sunset. Tonight's included dinner will be at a delicious restaurant in town!


February 2: 
This morning we will kick off our morning fitness routine with a beach walk followed by a workout. After our movement session, we'll enjoy breakfast with ocean views and some free time to relax and digest. Today we'll have an exciting hike through the Costa Rican jungle followed by a restorative stretch and a delicious BBQ at a nearby ranch.

February 3: 
We'll have a morning beach walk, meditation and workout class followed by nourishing breakfast. Then your day is free! Feel free to do your own thing (like a massage or zip lining) or hang out with some other retreat guests at the pool or beach! We'll meet again in the late afternoon for a class and enjoy a free night to check out one of the incredible restaurants in town.

February 4: 
Morning routine + breakfast. After some down time at the beach or pool, we'll depart for a catamaran tour on the ocean with swimming, snorkeling, and hopefully a glimpse of some whales or dolphins! Late lunch, open bar and unobstructed views of sunset included. Upon our return, and maybe after a shower, we'll have one last free night!

February 5: 
​Final morning beach walk and workout. After breakfast, we'll have some free time to soak up the sun before departing for the airport... til next time!
