What to Expect

Imagine paddling through Iceland’s serene glacial waters, hiking to a hidden waterfall, soaking in a warm river after a day of adventure, and wandering along black sand beaches dotted with secret caves. Our Iceland Adventure Retreat brings these incredible moments to life—while blending fitness, culture, and connection in one unforgettable journey.

On this exciting retreat, we’ll discover Iceland’s breathtaking natural wonders and unique adventures, stay active with hiking and workouts, and savor the flavors of local cuisine. And best of all, we’ll share these experiences with a group of like-minded travelers who will quickly feel like friends.

Fitness:

In this special adventure-focused Ketanga retreat, we will enjoy a handful of workouts including a mix of bodyweight strength training, mobility work, and mindful stretching. Whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned athlete, you'll challenge your body in a safe, energizing environment.

​Special (optional) add-on! Interested in getting involved in an active local tradition? We'll be in town for the annual Reykjavik marathon, so you have the (totally optional) opportunity to sign up and join the 1.7K or 3K fun run/walk, 10K or half marathon!

Adventure:

This retreat is designed to showcase both Iceland’s iconic landmarks and its hidden gems. One highlight is a kayaking and hiking adventure that ends with the ultimate reward—a relaxing soak in a naturally warm river after lunch. We’ll also spend a full day in Southern Iceland exploring waterfalls, including a secret hike to a hidden cascade, and wandering along dramatic coastlines.

Plus, for those who want to customize their adventure, optional add-ons like horseback riding on Icelandic horses or soaking in the Sky Lagoon are available.

Relaxation:

Throughout the retreat you will enjoy pockets of free time where you can explore the city, or perhaps pamper yourself with a massage or an extra excursion!

Of course, no trip to Iceland is complete without a rejuvenating geothermal experience, so we’ll make time for a special visit to the Blue Lagoon on our final day to truly relax before leaving the country.

  • Secure your spot with a nonrefundable $500 deposit.
  • Save an extra $100 by paying your balance by Zelle or check!
  • Payment balance due 90 days before the retreat.
  • Airfare to/from Keflavík Airport in Iceland (KEF) not included.
  • Travel insurance recommended.
  • Guests interested in sharing a room with another solo traveler will be paired with a roommate first come, first served, pending availability.

  • South Coast adventure day with lunch: avisit incredible waterfalls, hike through a canyon, look for puffins on unique rock formations
  • ​Golden Circle adventure tour with lunch: watch an ancient geyser erupt, visit the biggest waterfall of the entire retreat, explore Thingvellir National Park, and have lunch at an incredible tomato greenhouse!
  • Transportation between all included excursions and activities
  • Movement classes ranging from strength to mobility
  • Daily breakfast buffet and two group dinners included
  • One-way transportation to the airport for flights after 5PM

Miðgarður by Center Hotels is conveniently positioned at the edge of Reykjavik's main downtown neighborhood, the perfect location for dining, shopping, and experiencing the local culture while still being quiet and restfull. Guest rooms deliver modern amenities with simple, clean, contemporary design. Guests will be staying in Deluxe Rooms with free WiFi, complimentary spa access and a delicious on-site restaurant. Rooms come with a king bed which can be split into two single beds, ideal for friends traveling together.

Meet Coach Beth Roberts

Picture
Beth Roberts is a fitness trainer and nutrition/lifestyle coach with over 25 years of experience. Beth has taught many styles of fitness and levels of clients over her career as a private coach and group exercise instructor. Her passion for boot camp-style interval training drove her to establish Killington Boot Camp in Killington, Vermont, where she keeps fitness fun with a variety of indoor and outdoor workouts. On wellness retreats, Beth mixes up the styles of fitness she teaches to accommodate the day's other activities as well as guests' different levels and abilities . Classes vary from total body interval style training to restorative stretching and myofascial release.

After hosting her first retreat with Ketanga in Tulum, Mexico, Beth has caught the fitness travel bug and has become one of Ketanga's most popular retreat leaders with trips in Costa Rica, Kauai, Barbados, Croatia, Portugal, Mallorca, and more!
