Stronger YOU Retreat

Reset, recharge, bond with like-minded women, and come back home stronger than ever! The Stronger YOU Retreat isn’t just about working out; it’s about making friends, letting go, trying new things, creating healthy habits working towards self-love, practicing gratitude, and finding joy in the simple things…nature, freedom, and girl time! There will be two workouts daily (for all levels), excursions both in the water and on land, as well as group dinners, and tons of free time. Our mission is that you leave a stronger version of yourself; mentally, physically, and emotionally with a whole new tribe of girls to lean on. 

Fitness:
Each day we will have two workouts led by Jess Glazer. One will be focused on slower movements, including yoga, meditation, and stretching, while the other workout will be a HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout focusing on total body movements as well as partner and team challenges.

Adventure:
Each day of the retreat will present an opportunity for adventure ranging from the option to try a new food to going on an excursion with the group. Two activities that are part of the experience (but totally optional) are zip lining on an exciting canopy tour and sailing on an open-bar catamaran cruise at sunset (with snorkeling and whale watching!).

Relaxation:
Each day will balance activities with free time to relax, reflect, or go explore on your own or with others. Our resort is right on the beach and has a beautiful pool so free time is yours to cherish! Other ideas are to get a spa treatment, sign up for an extra excursion, or explore the nearest town.

The Accommodations

Our luxurious boutique resort aka home for the retreat is El Mangroove on the Gulft of Papagayo, just 20 minutes from the Liberia (LIR) airport. With a focus on authentic Costa Rican culture, farm and sea-to-table cuisine, and healthy and active experiences, El Mangroove aligns with Ketanga's values, and we are excited to bring you there! The resort also features a relaxing fully-functioning spa, two restaurants, a swimming pool, and private access to the beach.

Guests will have the choice of a Bark Suite, a 485-square foot room complete with a king bed and private living room area featuring a relaxing hammock next to a window that makes you feel like you're floating in nature, or a Nesto Suite with the same size and amenities, featuring two queen beds. All rooms are complete with WiFi connectivity, air conditioning, a fan, a walk-in closet, workspace, 42" plasma TV, safe deposit box, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and mini bar.

Meet Your Coach

Jess Glazer is a Manhattan-based personal trainer, group instructor, gymnast, fitness competitor, eating disorder survivor, self-love junkie, motivator, plant-based chef, and founder of “FITtrips”.

Originally from New Jersey, Jess grew as a competitive gymnast and has over a decade of experience dealing with injury prevention, rehabilitation, body image barriers, and goal setting. She studied Physical Therapy at The University of Rhode Island and graduated with B.S. in Kinesiology. Jess has worked as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and gymnastics coach since 2002. She spent the last eight years working as an elementary physical education/health teacher where she continued to share her passion for health and fitness. Her signature teaching style was incorporating daily mindset practices and positive self-talk with all of her students. Jess is a firm believer that happiness, transformations, and success all starts in the mind!

Jess is dedicated to helping inspire, motivate, and educate others on the importance of loving your body, moving your body, and building your best self through living a healthy lifestyle. Her number one reminder to clients is that fitness isn’t about being better than anyone else. We should not compare ourselves to anyone else, but rather focus on being better than we used to be. Health and wellness isn’t measures by how you look, but how you feel!
