Yoga & Wine Retreat

Cheers to a (Labor Day) weekend of yoga, wine and feeling fine!

August 31 - September 3, 2018

Yoga & Wine Retreat

Wine and yoga go together better than you may think. Both have many varieties, distinct flavors, and make you feel good! On this second annual Labor Day Weekend getaway, Coach Rebecca Weible of YoYoga! will lead a special retreat that is all about throwing stress and drama aside and letting yourself relax and have fun. We'll practice yoga between grape vines and on the beach, try new things like paddle boarding and bond around a bonfire. Plus, we'll taste and enjoy a variety of delicious local vino. In other words, the perfect way to clear your mind, refresh your body, and savor the summer!

The fitness:
Rebecca’s yoga teaching style focuses heavily on alignment and even breathing without losing the element of fun and humor. She wants students to feel comfortable and at ease during their practice while still challenging them to take their practice further each class. Each practice will have a different focus and styles will vary from vinyasa to restorative.

The retreat:
The daily yoga practices will be complemented by a mix of private wine tastings, stand-up paddle boarding and enjoying local restaurants. Plus, we'll have free time to explore more vineyards, visit the colorful farmstands, or just relax on the beach.

Meet Coach Rebecca Weible of YoYoga!

As there was little opportunity to practice yoga while growing up in Myrtle Beach, SC, Rebecca's mom bought her a book about yoga to fuel her interest. When she taught herself crow pose from the book she was hooked.

Her regular practice began in a Jivamukti studio in Charleston, SC during college. After a few years of practicing yoga in NYC, Rebecca began her teacher training with YogaWorks. While working in advertising, she taught yoga on the side. She decided to leave the corporate job environment and pursue her dream of opening a yoga studio and teaching full time. She is now the founder and director of YoYoga! in New York City.

She did both her 200 Hour and 300 Hour trainings at YogaWorks. Rebecca has studied Restorative Yoga with Jillian Pransky and Anatomy through Jill Miller’s Yoga Tune Up Anatomy Module. Rebecca and Yo Yoga! have been written up in the New York Times, Time Out New York, and AM New York and have been featured on MTV and France One Television.

Testimonials about Coach Rebecca

"I have been studying yoga with Rebecca for close to 5 years now. With her deep knowledge, her ability to break down and encourage new poses, and make classes fun by infusing her wonderful relatable humor, she motivated not only my dedication to my practice but for me to take it further and complete my own teacher training. I am grateful to have such a supportive and inspiring teacher." - Gina D.

"I've been practicing with Rebecca for five years now, since she opened her studio, and I have watched not just my practice expand and grow, but my community grow as well.  YoYoga is like a sanctuary in a frenetic city.  Rebecca has worked to make this environment welcoming and open, spiritual and fun. There is no room for judgment, only laughter, growth and movement; she truly lets you experience the studio and build your practice in a way that works for you.  Rebecca is the perfect balance of fun, while still getting the job done, with amazing music mixes as well as a wide variety of poses that she modifies for each individual.  I also attended Rebecca's first yoga getaway which was as playful as it was tough, pushing myself to the limit, but also getting the opportunity to try new inversions and tons of partner yoga.  There is literally no other yoga studio or teacher I'd rather practice with." - Deanna F.

Friday, August 31
  • Welcome to the North Fork! Guests will arrive at the Duncan Inn between 2-3PM and meet for introductions and to set intentions for the weekend. We'll visit a nearby vineyard for our first yoga practice and private wine tasting, and that night, we'll enjoy dinner together at a local restaurant.

Saturday, September 1
  • This morning, we'll have our yoga practice at the inn followed by a light breakfast with locally-brewed coffee. Next up is stand-up paddle boarding! We'll learn how to balance on the board and Rebecca will take us through a flow. Yoga + balancing on a board = major core strengthening! With two yoga classes already behind us, we'll head to the eastern tip of the North Fork, the town of Greenport. Pick a spot for lunch and explore the nautical town's shops or lounge by the waterfront. In the afternoon, we'll have a scheduled stop at two vineyards (such as One Woman Winery and Sparkling Pointe) where you can choose to have a tasting, enjoy a glass, or sit back and enjoy the company. Free night for dinner!

Sunday, September 2
  • Our morning yoga practice will be at the inn along with a delicious light breakfast. Then the late morning and early afternoon are free! We'll offer an optional 'Town Tour' where we will visit some of the hot spots of the area like a chocolate shop, farm stands, and a country store, or you are welcome to do your own thing (or check out more wineries!). We will reconvene at another winery for our afternoon restorative yoga class and included wine tasting. In the evening, we'll have a group dinner and then build a bonfire at the inn to dance, relax, drink wine, and reflect on the weekend.

Monday, September 3 (Labor Day)
  • Happy Labor Day! Our morning vinyasa yoga practice will be at South Jamesport Beach, where the view is beyond picturesque! After working up an appetite, we'll go into town for brunch at Main Road Biscuit, one of the best local restaurants! We'll enjoy fresh smoothies, omelettes, and biscuits, and then guests are free to head home or stick around for another wine tasting - why not?!
