5 Unique Outdoor Workouts
Stand-up paddle boarding, or SUP, is a great way to build endurance, strength and balance while enjoying fresh air and water. For those of you in New York City - you can paddle down the Hudson and enjoy a view of that iconic skyline!
2. Try out some tennis
Tennis is a great cardio workout for two people or a small group. Grab a friend (or 3 for doubles) and hit the court! Want more of a challenge? Book a lesson from a pro and split the cost with a friend. Don't own a racquet? No problem. Many pro-shops have one you can rent. With a bit of advance notice, you can also request a demo racquet from Tennis Warehouse.
3. Get healthy on the Hudson
Another great option for those in or around NYC is Hudson River Park's summer series Healthy on the Hudson. These free with RSVP classes begin May 22nd and run through September 13th. Mark your calendars and invite your friends!
4. Break it down at bootcamp
Take your next high intensity interval workout to the streets/beach/park. Many well-known fitness companies (like Zumba and Physique57) offer outdoor versions of their workouts during the summer - often at a discounted rate! Also, outdoor retailer REI hosts a wide range of outdoor activities all over the country. Check here to find one near you!
5. Kick butt on a Ketanga retreat
Our favorite way to work out outdoors! We've got a packed lineup of getaways this summer. Join us in Costa Rica, Spain, New York, Ireland, Colorado and more. Check out our full retreat schedule here.
