If you're looking to shake up your fitness routine in a big way in 2017, check out these exciting recreation offerings from across the globe.

Whether you embrace winter weather, head to the beach, or try yoga while suspended in the air, you're bound to find excitement, fun, and tired muscles in any of these fantastic destinations.

Rock Climbing in Colorado
Sometimes in an effort to 'see the world' we forget about the places closer to home, like Colorado. Other than being a snow-sports heaven in the winter, this mountainous state offers some of the best and most picturesque rock climbing! Whether beginner or advanced, you can find something that suits you from bouldering to ascending cliffs, and more!

Ice Climbing in Canada
Ice climbing is one the most strenuous winter sports out there, and there’s an active community of ice climbers in the Canadian Rockies. The climbing season typically runs through the end of April, giving travelers ample opportunity to take advantage of winter. Varied terrain means that all levels of climbers can experience the thrill of being on the ice. Even if you only ascend a dozen or so feet up the cliff, your arms will be sore but stronger than ever!

Surfing in New Zealand
New Zealand beckons to fitness enthusiasts for so many reasons, but surfers especially will love the country’s 9,000+ miles of coastline. Considered a world-class surfing destination, New Zealand is popular with surfing pros as well as newcomers. Surfing tours, private or group lessons, and board rentals can be found in most coastal towns, and the abundance of sandbars and reefs mean that there are conditions fit for every type of surfer on almost any given day.

Hiking in Italy
You’ve heard of the Alps in Switzerland, but what about the Apennine range in Italy? These lesser-traveled mountains offer stunning vistas and Italian hospitality. Hikers and walkers embark on multi-day expeditions--either self-guided or with tour guides--and stop at small inns or hotels each night to enjoy delicious food and the company of other hikers and locals. It’s a perfect getaway for someone who wants to experience the Italian countryside on foot.

Scuba Diving in Belize
Ambergris Caye, Belize’s largest island, is famed for its fantastic scuba diving. Both beginner and advanced divers will find reefs and locations suited for them and teeming with beautiful aquatic creatures and corals. Many companies offer opportunities to learn to dive and get certified, and others feature tours of Belize’s many stunning underwater sites. For more fun on the water, you can try snorkeling or sailing, both of which are very popular in Belize.

Aerial Yoga in the United States
Aerial yoga draws from both traditional yoga and acrobatic arts, and the result is a challenging but rewarding fitness practice. Currently most popular in the United States, there are schools around the country that offer workshops and trainings. The workout offers many of the benefits of yoga with the addition of more intensive and therapeutic inversions. Plus, you get to fly!

Horseback Riding in Ireland
Ireland has strong equestrian roots, and horseback is one of the best ways to explore the countryside. Visit for cross-country obstacles, galloping along beaches, and trail rides through the gorgeous countryside. And stay tuned to Ketanga's upcoming retreats for a riding + yoga + hiking trip here soon!
