Hola from Mexico! Ketanga is finishing up a fitness retreat in Cancun, and the time has completely flown by. The resort is gorgeous, and there are plenty of places to mix up workouts or set up shop by the pool.
A day on the "Functional Fitness Fusion" retreat started with an iced coffee at one of two coffee shops followed by our morning workout overlooking the beach. Each day, Coach Jay had a different fitness focus for the group from boxing to sports conditioning. After the morning workout, the ravenous group enjoyed a buffet breakfast followed by vegging out by the pool/beach.
In the afternoons, the group could be found playing beach volleyball, enjoying wave runners, going on a horseback riding excursion, or enjoying snacks and cocktails by the pool (gotta love the all-inclusive resorts!). As the sun started to set, the group would gather for workout #2 in a quiet grassy area in the shade that we had to ourselves. We'd get in another challenging workout, shower up, and enjoy dinner, evening dips in the pool, and a few margaritas. I can't say enough about the resort, the people on the trip, or Coach Jay - this trip was a blast! Can't wait for round two!
