(Ketanga) Name a workout everyone should try (at least once) in their lifetime. (Britney) Every person is different so I wouldn’t necessarily pick just one work out. I think you should be willing to try different things. You should always try something once. You never know, it could be exactly what your body wants and needs. Maybe try a gymnastics class for adults, a dance class or even learn how to box. Learn to leap out of your comfort zone. What is your morning routine? Honestly, I love sleep. Those early wake up calls sometimes can be hard. But typically I wake up and listen to my favorite song. Something my mom passed on to me. She would blast her favorite Adele song until the entire house was awake. Music has a wonderful way of putting me in a good mood instantly. I like to incorporate it daily. Then I make a cup of coffee and depending of the class I’m teaching, I eat breakfast (sometimes I wait until after I teach). I have a daily planner that I keep with me at all times and write my goals for the day/week. In the morning, I look over what goals I want to achieve that day and prioritize a list. Who doesn’t love a good list! Do you have a suggestion for someone trying yoga for the first time? Yes, just embrace it all! The first time you’re going to be a little confused, lost, and uncomfortable you may even be nervous or insecure if you’re in a group class setting. Those are all feelings that are normal as you’re not in your comfort zone. As soon as you begin to feel comfortable in your vulnerable state, that is when you begin to see so many incredible benefits. The best part is everyone has started there. There is so much you can learn in a class setting and it’s amazing how kind, respectful and helpful people are. The energy of the room really does cultivate an amazing experience. What was your first job? My first job was babysitting. As the oldest of four kids I became more responsible than your typical 10 year old rather quickly. Word travels fast. I began babysitting many kids with special needs. What is the last song you listened to on Spotify? The entire Dennis Lloyd album. Multiple times😅 What excites you about hosting a fitness retreat? I am thrilled to share my love for yoga, handstands and adventure with others. Connecting with people in an exotic place doing what I love can only be an incredible time. I can NOT wait. Tell us a fun fact about yourself! When I was growing up in Florida, I had a ball pit with a trapeze hanging above it in my backyard. Needless to say, I didn’t exactly grow up inside the box! What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? If you are the smartest person in the room you are in the wrong place. Constantly evolve. Forever learn.
