Incredibly experienced in the practice of yoga, Coach Rebecca Weible is not only the owner and director of YoYoga in midtown, but she is also a three-time Ketanga Coach!

Known for her welcoming and fun approach to yoga, Rebecca is a blast on and off the mat. While getting ready for the Yoga & Wine Labor Day Retreat, Rebecca sat down with Ketanga to share a little more about herself. Read on!

Upcoming Retreats:
  • Labor Day Yoga & Wine in the North Fork, NY (Aug 31 - Sept 3)
  • Winter Escape Yoga Retreat in Nicaragua (Feb 8-13, 2019)

(Ketanga) After a yoga class, what is your drink of choice?
(Rebecca) Wine! While this feels like the obvious answer here, I definitely drink wine more than any other alcoholic beverage. Red in the winter, Rosé in the summer and Prosecco year round! Yoga heightens your senses and mind/body connection so you can truly taste and savor your post-yoga wine.
What was the hardest move for you to master?
Crow pose came quite easily for me, but contrarily every other arm balance, even Side Crow, confounded me for years.
What excites you about hosting a yoga retreat?
It's easier to get to know people while they are relaxed and on vacation. Even though they don't all know each other, everyone ends up letting their guard down a little so they can connect with each other (and me!) and reconnect with themselves. It's really inspiring to be surrounded by high vibes like that for a few days while sharing yoga, beautiful sights and experiences.

How do you exercise while traveling?
I'm not much of a gym rat, but I like both being active and being outside so when I'm traveling. I try local activities or excursions like hiking, snorkeling, white water rafting and so on. I also like checking out the local yoga studios.
They say if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. Do you find this to be true as a business owner?
Honestly, 'they' are a tad idealistic. I say that you work harder but it is because you are passionate about it and care more which does make that work enjoyable and rewarding. But if something is your career and your chief financial source, you are going to have bad days and stress just like any other job or responsibility.
What is your dream travel destination?
Australia/New Zealand/Fiji/other small islands nearby that I would have to look up on a map to know their names!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I am the youngest of 6 siblings!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
When I was growing restless with my corporate job, my mom told me that I could go for my Masters in business, or I could start one and I would spend the same amount of money and learn the same things. (For the record, she has done both!)
