Healthy Smoothie Series: Orange Raspberry Dream

​Adding vanilla yogurt to this combo of orange and raspberry makes this smoothy creamy, fruity, and yummy.  Because it's lighter in calories, it serves well as a mid-morning snack or post-dinner treat.

Calories: ~150 calories

Ingredients: 
  • 1/2 cup of raspberries
  • Orange or 1/2 cup of orange juice (an orange will make it a bit pulpy)
  • Vanilla Almond Milk (I like Almond Breeze, 30 calories per cup)
  • Yogurt, plain or vanilla (Greek yogurt for some extra protein, I like Dannon's Light & Fit or Chobani)
  • Optional: vanilla extract
  • Ice

Instructions:
  • Pour 1/3 of a cup of almond milk into blending cup
  • Add in 1/2 cup of raspberries
  • Add in orange slices or about half a cup of OJ
  • Dollop in some greek yogurt, note that greek yogurt has a strong flavor so you might want to only put a small amount at first and then add more in as needed
  • Optional: Add in a little bit of vanilla extract
  • Throw in a few ice cubes and fill the blending cup up to a little under the top with cold water
  • Blend and enjoy!

Note, measurements and calories are approximate, and are based on using a 16oz blender cup.
