![]() Greetings from sunny St. Pete Beach, Florida! We are just wrapping up our "Strengthen in the Sun" retreat, and I wanted to share some of the highlights of the (amazing) trip! We kicked things off Friday evening with a little meet and greet followed by our first workout: TRX! A monkey drinking a beer was kind enough to share his tree with us while we squatted, knee tucked, and rowed down below. Then we stretched at sunset on the beach just a few steps away. The Guy Harvey Outpost resort, where we stayed, has an underwater theme with fish-related paintings and decor everywhere. A major draw of the resort is the RumFish Grill, a DELICIOUS restaurant which is centered around a massive 33,500 gallon aquarium filled with fish and even a shark. The tank was even featured on Animal Planet's show, "Tanked". And get this: you can pay $25 to jump in the tank and swim / snorkel with the fishies! We preferred to watch during dinner that night, but maybe next time one of us will take the plunge. Saturday was a gorgeous, sunny day, and we enjoyed two Pilates-based beach workouts that bookended a relaxing day by the beach, pool, and hammocks. We saw the most incredible sunset and even a dolphin swimming in the Gulf! That evening, the hotel hosted a viewing part of the Tampa Bay Lightening hockey game, right on the beach! Fans from all over town came by and enjoyed a BBQ, some drinks, and watched their team beat the Coyotes 4-2. We spent the evening by one of the many bonfires that are lit each night, and we enjoyed some beers by the fire. Sunday morning was spent at Fort De Soto Park, a huge park with miles of paths for running or biking, a kayak center to go out on the water, and clean and quiet beaches. We got in a TRX workout as well as a cardio + Pilates session on the beach... and this was all before noon! Sunday night - our last night already - started with a core conditioning session (I'm still in pain) and dinner at Steam & Chill, a local, health-focused restaurant that is highly recommended! (Get the eggplant lasagna, fish tacos, or chicken skewers over zucchini noodles!). Wow, what a whirlwind and what fun! I'll be sore for a week (and I'm not the only one!). We had such a great group of tough, strong, fun women, and we couldn't have done it without the fabulous Coach Dani Rubin from Pilates Blast in Tinton Falls, NJ! Stay tuned for more videos and photos from the trip. By Stacy
