I've been spoiled. My introduction to Pilates almost 10 years ago was with one of the best instructors around. Dani Rubin (who is hosting our Strengthen in the Sun Fitness Retreat in February) was fun, informative, and extremely effective. Since she moved out of state, I've had a hard time finding a studio that could compare with equipment and quality of instruction. And then I found Core Pilates NYC. What really sold me was the quality of instruction. Sarah Ruback stood out to me because the level of attention she paid to each member of the class was motivating and extremely helpful. Immediately learning and remembering my name, Sarah was able to call out cues to help me adjust my position to get the most of each exercise. Although the first class I took (Stronger Longer) was more of a restorative / stretching class, I was able to feel the burn by making small tweaks that she suggested. Core Pilates NYC definitely gets Ketanga's nod of approval. There are so many types of classes and instructors that there is definitely something for everyone - whether you are new to Pilates or just looking to try out a new facility. *SPECIAL OFFER: Ketanga followers are invited to be the first to try the new Pilates streaming service, Pilates Stream - completely free! The site is set to go live in February, but with this offer, you will get the first three months completely free once it is ready to go. So be sure to sign up now! Located at the intersection of Flatiron, Gramercy, and Union Square, Core Pilates is a diamond in the rough. The spacious studio has facilities for multiple classes to run at the same time - without disruption. And they have all the necessary equipment (in pristine condition) to teach mat, tower, reformer, and barre classes.
