What We're Craving Now: Getting dressed with a greater purpose withCureWear

PictureWearing the 'supporter' CureWear shirts
Imagine being a Division I college athlete with nothing but opportunity ahead of you.  Then imagine having your routine, hobbies, and goals abruptly put on hold due to a serious diagnosis: cancer.  This is what happened to Alex Niles, a 32-year old from NY & PA who has been battling stage IV gastric cancer since 2013.

But this is by no means a sob story.  In fact, it is a story of strength, ambition, and care.  Upon starting the process of receiving treatment, Alex saw an opportunity to enhance the confidence and comfort in his fellow patients.  Instead of having to undress, put on a hospital gown, and redress after treatment, patients with ports or PICC lines are now given the opportunity to remain clothed throughout the procedure, thanks to Alex's thoughtful invention.

A behind-the-scenes look at one of the original prototypes of the CureWear shirt
Alex's company, CureWear, is a line of functional, yet fashionable t-shirts that patients can wear during treatment due to an innovative removable patch on the chest.  When removed, the patches reveal a cutout where medicine-administering tubes can go with ease.  Such a simple idea that makes a huge difference for patients!

Alex has created two versions of the shirt - one for patients with a removable patch and one for supporters, where the patch is not removable.  The shirts are made of an moisture-wicking material, perfect for workouts with a message!
How to support Alex and CureWear:
We invite you to join Alex and the CureWear cause by spreading the word or purchasing a shirt.  For every two supporter shirts purchased, CureWear donates a patient shirt (the one with the patch) to a patient going through treatment.

If you are interested in supporting CureWear in other ways (donations, wearing the patch in a race, etc.), please email info@mycurewear.com.
