Coach Jess Glazer is many things: a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, gymnast, fitness competitor, eating disorder survivor, self-love junkie, motivator, plant-based chef, and founder of “FITtrips”. While it's impossible to put just one label on her, we can definitely tell that she is a boss, of her own life and an incredibly successful 2 year-old company. She is a firm believer that happiness, transformations and success all starts in the mind! Jess is dedicated to helping inspire and educate others on the importance of loving your body, moving your body, and building your best self through living a healthy lifestyle. Upcoming Retreats: Power & Empower Retreat (January 24 - 28) (Ketanga) Where do you gain fitness inspiration? My fitness inspiration first and foremost comes from myself. Seeing how far I've come, what challenges I've overcome, the progress I've made, and how much I've grown over the years. When I think back to how many times I've failed, the things I've accomplished, and the impact I've made on others; I can't help but feel inspired. However, my clients are a close second as my inspiration. They push me and test my abilities as a trainer and coach. Seeing someone transform (mindset first, then physical changes and strength/skill goals) just absolutely lights me up. Helping others realize their worth and value, watching them find their own inner strength, and seeing them step into their self confidence; there is no better feeling! What is your favorite vacation spot? Wow, this is a tough question, I've been so fortunate to travel a ton throughout my life! That said, I think anywhere I can unplug from work and be outside running around in nature makes me the happiest. I am 100% not a lay on the beach type of girl. Don't get me wrong, I love the ocean, surfing, sailing, jet skiing, etc. But, laying around drives me nuts. If you won a $100 million lottery tomorrow, how are you spending the money? $100 million, wouldn't that be nice! The first thing I would do is hire a trusting financial planner and organize where the majority of my money would go. I would want to spread it out over various investments, stocks, savings, trusts (future family, siblings, and ourselves), etc. Before spending any of it, I would want to organize, plan, and allocate in the smartest way possible. I then would help pay off my parents', in-laws' and personal homes. I would love to "retire" my husband so we can truly build the life of our dreams, giving back and serving others. The financial freedom would allow us time in which we could travel more before honing in on building. I know he would love to get involved in some real estate side hustle and I would be able to focus whole heartily building FITtrips, coaching clients, and teaching to a much larger audience. We'd be able to give to more charities, fund schools being built in other countries, bring more fresh water/food to those in need, and ultimately serve on a much larger scale! What was the last book you read? Great question! I love reading and it is a non-negotiable part of my morning routine. My goal this year is to read 2-3 books per month. I just recently finished "The Four Hour Work Week" by Timothy Ferris (which was a re-read) and I currently have one chapter left of "Ayurveda" by Sahara Rose Ketabi. What excites you about hosting a fitness retreat? The thing that excites me most about hosting a fitness retreat is connection. As the founder of FITtrips "Friendship Inspired Training" my mission is to: once a month come together, to step out of our comfort zones, try new things, sweat, connect with like-minded women, pamper ourselves for a few hours of self-love, laughs, and building muscles & memories. Bringing women together, showing them the importance of a tribe, or "FITtribe" as we say, helping them find confidence, seeing them overcome fears, and then watching friendships blossom is absolutely incredible. It totally lights me up. FITtrips is turning 2 in July, so I've hosted a ton of local events, but this will be my second retreat with Ketanga and if it's anything like the first one....magic! Tell us a fun fact about yourself! I've been a 100% plant based vegan since 2003, way before it was trendy! Jess is the Founder of Food Freedom University, a program to help you ditch the diet, heal your relationship with food, love your body, feel confident, and finally live the life you deserve!
